D-Link Broadband Videophone DVC-2000
The i2eye DVC-2000 Broadband Videophone is a full-featured desktop videoconferencing device with a built-in 5" color LCD screen. Since the DVC-2000 is a standalone device, you do not need a computer or television to videoconference over the Internet. A high-speed broadband Internet connection is required. One year warranty. - Built-in 5" color LCD screen and camera lens can be adjusted independently to accommodate your viewing preferences.
- Auto IP Mapping: Instead of identifying your DVC-2000 by an IP address, you assign it a "phone number" of your choice. As incoming callers dials that number, the D-Link remote directory service (free of charge) converts it to your videophone's corresponding IP address. Since most home users have cable modem/DSL connections with dynamic IP addresses that can change every time they log on, the D-Link directory keeps track of the changes so that your call is routed to the correct videophone.
- Streaming video at up to 30 frames/second for smooth, jitter-free video.
- Audio/Video Privacy and "Do Not Disturb" modes.
- Caller ID feature identifies incoming IP videophone calls from other i2eye videophone users. This feature is not related to or compatible with the Caller ID feature that may be available with your traditional telephone service.
- Speakerphone mode for hands-free conferencing.
- Easy configuration setup wizard guides you through the entire setup process.
Consumers who are Deaf can make videophone calls by calling the Video Relay Service to use a VRS interpreter, or by calling another user directly. Any phone signaler may be used with a videophone to flash a lamp for visual notification of incoming videophone calls. With a phone signaler that transmits to remote receivers, you can be notified not just in one room, but in other rooms where the receiver is connected to a lamp or strobe light.
Requirements: high-speed broadband Internet connection; phone line (if you wish to make voice only calls using a standard phone line).
Connecting the DVC-2000 Videophone: - Place the D-Link DVC-2000 videophone in a location where you can easily connect to a phone jack, power outlet, router or gateway.
- Attach the supplied Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the videophone. Connect the other end of the cable to your ethernet network device (hub, switch, router, broadband modem).
- OPTIONAL: Attach the supplied standard telephone cable to a telephone wall jack. Connect the other end of the cable to the Phone port on the videophone.
- OPTIONAL: If you want to use a television instead of the built-in video display screen, connect the yellow and white RCA cables to the yellow and white RCA connectors on the videophone and to the matching audio/video jacks on the television or VCR.
Note: You must toggle the TV/LCD switch on the side of the unit if you want to use the television output. - Plug the supplied AC power cable into an AC outlet and then connect the other end to the videophone.
